Gary Comer College Prep Groundbreaking

The Youth Center was proud to host the groundbreaking ceremony on June 9, 2009. The 42,000 square foot building, by John Ronan Architects, is designed to be used in conjunction with the adjacent Youth Center. Click here for a sneak peek. The South Shore Drill Team opened the ceremony with a rousing performance, followed by a flag presentation and the Star Spangled Banner sung by Gary Comer College Prep student Brianna Jamison. Once the ground was officially broken, guests were treated to a picnic lunch prepared by the GCYC culinary team.
